The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies monitored the arrest of 595 Palestinian citizens, including 76 children and 22 women, by the Israeli occupation authorities during last October.
In a report, the Center explained that during the past month, the Israeli occupation forces increased their incursions into the cities and towns of the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as the arrests against Palestinians, which witnessed an increase from last month by more than 30%.
In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 5 fishermen from the Al-Hassi family near the Al-Sudaniah area in the northern Gaza Strip. 4 of them were released through the Erez Crossing the day after their arrest, while the fifth fisherman, Ahmed Al-Hassi, wasn’t.
The director of the center, researcher Riad Al-Ashqar, stated that during the past month, the occupation continued to target children with arrests, house arrest and imposition of financial fines, as it arrested 76 minors, and 22 women and girls, including 18 from the occupied city of Jerusalem.
Al-Ashqar pointed out that more than 290 arrests were carried out in Jerusalem, including 41 children and 18 women and girls. The arrests were concentrated in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings and the streets near it, with 110 arrests, followed by the towns of Shuafat, Al-Isawiya and Silwan.

It also issued 29 home confinement orders against Jerusalemites.
Al-Ashqar indicated that the number of martyrs of the Captive Movement rose to 231, after the death of the prisoner Muhammad Maher Turkman, from Jenin, as a result of being shot when he was arrested. He was seriously injured and the necessary medical care was not provided to him during his stay in the hospital.
Al-Ashqar explained that the Palestinian female prisoners in Damoun Prison were subjected to various penalties during October, including being prevented from communicating with their families via public phones, after the female prisoners took protest steps by returning meals and closing sections in solidarity with their fellow captive Azhar Assaf.
Al-Ashqar also mentioned that the mock Israeli courts issued (220) administrative detention decisions, the duration of which ranged between two to six months, including (85) new administrative detention orders, and (135) renewal orders. He added that the period of administrative detention for some prisoners was renewed for the fifth time, bringing the number of administrative detention orders issued since the beginning of this year to more than 1,700.
