The United States imposed sanctions on UN expert on Palestinian rights, Francesca Albanese, over her reports accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. Albanese warned of the "chilling effect" of the sanctions on human rights defenders and affirmed her commitment to continuing her work.
