November 15, 2021The Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, appealed to the international community and human rights and legal institutions to take immediate and urgent action to save the lives of prisoners inside the prisons of the Israeli occupation, adding that the occupation does not care about the prisoners' health and deliberately neglects them.

The Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, appealed to the international community and human rights and legal institutions to take immediate and urgent action to save the lives of prisoners inside the prisons of the Israeli occupation, adding that the occupation does not care about the prisoners' health and deliberately neglects them.
Al-Kaila confirmed that the Ministry of Health continuously monitors the health status of prisoners inside the occupation prisons, warning of the repercussions of the serious health condition of five prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli prisons.
Al-Kaila said, "The prisoner Kayed Al-Fasfous, who is in Barzilai Hospital and has been on hunger strike for 123 days, is close to sudden death at any moment, according to doctors who confirmed that serious health symptoms began to appear on him, as he suffers from the beginning of blood clots, and he lives in a state of unconsciousness, irregular heartbeat, tingling in the chest, and a drop in blood pressure and fluid levels in his body.”
She added, "The prisoner, Alaa Al-Araj, has been on hunger strike for 99 days, and he is frequently transferred to hospitals as a result of his grave health condition. He suffers from severe weakness, aches throughout the body, difficulty in movement, and frequent loss of consciousness."
Al-Kaila revealed that "the prisoner Hisham Ismail Abu Hawash has been on hunger strike for 90 days. He is in the Ramle clinic prison, and is frequently transferred to hospitals. He suffers from severe weakness, aches throughout the body, difficulty in movement, and frequent loss of consciousness.”.
She added, "The prisoner, Ayad Al-Harimi, has been on hunger strike for 53 days. He is in the Ramle Clinic prison, where he was recently transferred from the cells of Ofer Prison. He suffers from serious health symptoms. "
The Minister of Health affirmed that "silence about the prisoners' file means inevitable death for them, especially that 550 prisoners suffer from severe diseases and need urgent health care and follow-up, and at least 10 of them suffer from cancer and tumors."
