The head of the Studies and Documentation Unit in the Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Authority, Abdel Nasser Farwana, said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested about 1,400 Palestinians during the first quarter of 2022.
In a brief press statement, Farwana said, Friday, that there is an increase of 7% over the same period last year.
The Israeli occupation forces carries out its arrests during night raids on the homes of Palestinian activists, transfers them to detention centers established on the occupied territories, then to interrogation centers or prisons.
The number of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons is about 4,500, including 34 female prisoners, 180 minors, and about 500 administrative detainees.
